Eden’s Garden is truly blessed and proud to help another special family in June. We feel tremendously close to this family because their story is so similar to our story. After a battle with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at 5 years old (Corey- Dad) and many years of heartbreaking infertility Corey and Ana learned they were expecting twins!!! Ana’s pregnancy was anything but easy as she experienced a shortened cervix and pre-term labor. This couple put their worries in God’s hands and knew that He would take care of all of them. An ultrasound at 19 weeks showed that one of the twins- Tatiana had cysts in her brain.
The only thing left to do was to pray…..
Corey and Ana knew they had to get to 24 weeks to give their sweet babies a chance. Ana had a c-section on May 14, 2013 and the girls entered the world- tiny and sick. Maria weighed 1 lb 12 oz and Tatiana 1 lb 6 oz. Both girls had severe brain bleeds and required resuscitation and oxygen support. Tatiana became very sick on day 14 with a very serious preemie complication called Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). On May 29, 2013 Tatiana Faith passed away, she was just 15 days old.
Maria is doing well but still has a journey ahead of her, she is 48 days old and weighs 2 lbs. 12.4 oz.
Eden’s Garden is honored to be able to offer this special family a gift to make their journey just a little bit easier. We also know that Tatiana will always be remembered by her family and many others who were touched by her short life.
